We all come across obstacles in life. You, me, everyone.

We get stuck in our jobs. We don’t get hired for our dream jobs. We lose friends and family. We don’t lose weight. We get hurt. We hurt others.

Sometimes the obstacles are visible, physical, there for everyone to see.

Sometimes they’re subtle, made up of thoughts and doubts.

Ryan Holiday offers a way to overcome those obstacles in his book “The Obstacle Is The Way”.

I have read it, and I want to share what I’ve learned from it — so you don’t have to read it.

Key lessons

To overcome obstacles, you need to focus on 3 areas: perception, action, and will:

  • See clearly;
  • Act accordingly;
  • Endure and accept the world as it is.

Scroll all the way down if you’re a doer rather than a reader for some actionable advice and tips you can implement in your life.

#1 — There is no good or bad without us, there is only perception.
